Atlas MMO Skin Load Instructions

Not sure how to load a skin into Atlas? I’ve built a simple, visual walkthrough that shows you exactly what to do—no guessing, no digging through menus.

1) Open this folder on your computer:

  C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\ATLAS\ShooterGame\Saved\

-If your Steam games are on a different drive, navigate to the appropriate location.

2) Find or Create a folder called MyPaintings (spelled exactly like that) in the \Saved folder.

3) Place the YourNewfilename.PNT file that you purchased or created in the new "MyPaintings" folder.

4) Jump into Atlas MMO.

5) If you don't already have a paintbrush-make one, grab your paints and go to your sail, tame, canvas or flag.

6) Whack it

with the paintbrush.

You will see a menu pop up that looks like that---->

7) Click

on the button at the top of the screen called

LOAD PAINTS FROM THIS TYPE.

8) You should see

a menu called SAVED PAINTINGS with your new file just below.

9) Click on your new file name.

You will see

a PAINTING RESOURCES window on the right.

The left side menu is the recipe for the paint job.

The menu on the right are the paints you need to put in your inventory.

10) Make the paints in the MISSING RESOURCES menu.

11) Repeat steps 6 through 9 if you had to go cook up some paint.

12) Click

on the button at the top of the screen called LOAD PAINTING.

13) The file will start

loading, your character will start whacking air with the paintbrush and you will see this.

14) You will know

it’s done when you can see your new graphic on the sail in the window.

15) Close the menu

pat yourself on the back and check out your new sail in person!

Why ‘Black’ Looks Brown on Some Tames
Atlas has a weird little truth baked into its paint system: Your design doesn’t replace the animal’s color — it mixes with it. So when you paint a tame, your “black” areas aren’t being laid down like a solid sticker. They’re being blended with what...

Tames -vs- Skins
Elephants Elephants are the largest and most visually dominant tames in Atlas, which makes them ideal for bold designs and clear markings. Due to their size and base coloring, contrast matters more here than on any other tame. Dark base elephants pr...
